The Future of Healthcare Funding
Covered is a replacement for your traditional health insurance. We are a membership based health club for people who strive to lead a healthy lifestyle. There is a set monthly fee for each member that produces a large pool of available funds that all members have access to when a healthcare need arises. As long as it's a medically necessary treatment (not cosmetic or elective), you're covered! Each member of Covered will pay a set $250 per month club membership fee instead of an insurance premium. There will never be any co-pays or deductibles when you need care. Instead of presenting insurance to your doctor, hospital, or pharmacy you will inform them that you are self-pay and either be reimbursed by Covered or choose for us to pay directly to the provider on your behalf. The self-pay option for uninsured individuals comes at a highly discounted rate, allowing us to offer low membership fees and keep your money in your pocket! Instead of profits going into the pockets of CEO's and board members, available surplus funds will be refunded to club members that didn't utilize as much money as they contributed to the program throughout the calendar year.
How it works and who is currently eligible.
How It Works
Each member of our club will contribute $250 on the 1st of each month. This will remain in a group fund that is accessible to all members as medical needs arise. There are no co-pays or deductibles involved. You go to the provider of your choice and inform them that you are self-pay. You can access Covered group funds in two ways at this point. The first option is paying the amount due and submitting the receipt to us for reimbursement. The second option is submitting the bill to Covered and we will pay the provider or pharmacy directly. If you are unfamiliar with self-pay and need assistance negotiating this option with your doctor, pharmacy or hospital don't worry, our team can assist!
Discounts and rebates available to all members:
Any member who is enrolled with a direct primary care practice is eligible for a discount up to $150 per month. Direct primary care functions in a similar fashion as we do. Instead of billing patients per visit and dealing with insurance companies, you pay a monthly fee for access to primary care as needed. They are becoming more and more popular and easy to find with a quick google search. We are happy to help you locate them as well!
An annual rebate will be issued to members who utilize less group funds than they pay in with monthly club membership fees up to the difference between the two. These funds will be distributed evenly until available funds are exhausted. An annual monetary utilization report will be emailed to each member to maintain full transparency!
About Us
We are a grass roots organization with no big corporate structure receiving inflated bonuses from YOUR money and intend to keep it that way! Our founders are small-town, salt of the earth people just like you who have spent years working in the healthcare industry and are seeking to make positive changes in a system that many can no longer afford. This is our way of pushing back by simply gathering a sizeable group of like-minded people that are not happy with insurance companies or simply can't afford it! Our crowd-funded coverage basically functions the way an insurance company should, but we can keep costs low due to the lack of overhead and greedy corporate structure. We're a club of individuals that are all here with you, not to profit from you. Any excess funds in the group account will actually be reimbursed to members who didn't use as much as they paid in annually! Company salaries will be capped and we will provide a full financial disclosure to all of our members annually so that the use of club member's contributions will remain fair, transparent, and as low as possible.
Current Eligibility
We are currently accepting generally healthy individuals under the age of 65 who strive to maintain a healthy lifestyle. $125 is due upon enrollment and the other $125 when club fund access is opened on the 1st of the next calendar month. After that, $250 will be due on the 1st of each month. You may join at any time during the calendar year. Membership benefits will begin on the 1st of the next calendar month and you can cancel membership at any time.
